INDIA AND NEPAL - HOLI FESTIVAL

Day 1: (Thursday - March 6) BOGOTÁ - MADRID

Departure from your city of origin to Madrid. Overnight on board.

Day 2: (Friday - March 07) MADRID - DUBAI

Arrival in Madrid, we wait a couple of hours to continue the connection to Dubai. Overnight on board. And finally we continue to our final destination Delhi.

Día 3º: (Sábado – 08 Marzo) DELHI

A su llegada a Delhi, nuestro representante le recibirá afuera de la Puerta 5, traslado al Hotel. A su llegada al hotel, se realizará  el Check-in. Check-in a partir de las 3 pm. Alojamiento en el hotel.

DELHI: la moderna capital de la India también es una antiquísima ciudad cuyos orígenes se pierden en la leyenda. Cientos de monumentos la adornan, con su labrada y milenaria historia. Desde esta ciudad numerosas dinastías Hindúes y Musulmanas, incluyendo los Mogoles, gobernaron la India. No menos de 7 ciudades sucesivas existieron aquí antes de la llegada de los británicos, que crearían, de la mano de Sir Edwin Lutyens, su capital soñada.

Day 4: (Sunday - March 09) DELHI

Breakfast. We will start the tour with a photo stop at the Red Fort, nearby is Chandni Chowk, in times imperial avenue that Shah Jahan liked to ride along, and from there we will go to Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century.

We will then visit Gandhi's tomb and drive through the New Delhi area to see the India Gate, the Presidential Palace and the parliament. Next, we will go to visit the temple of the Sikh religion and sit for about 10 minutes in the prayer hall to observe the visitors and listen to the prayer.

In the afternoon, a visit to the New Delhi will allow us to discover the Qutab Minar (12th century), gracefully tapered and entirely hand-carved on its shaft; nearby is the Iron Column, which has witnessed the misfortunes of time and is not even rusted, after 1500 years of history. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Día 5º: (Lunes – 10 Marzo) DELHI - AGRA  

Desayuno en el hotel y salida por carretera hacia Agra. Llegada a Agra y Check in en el hotel.

A continuación, visitaremos el Fuerte de Agra, a orillas del río Yamuna, en pleno centro de la ciudad. Refleja la arquitectura india bajo tres emperadores Mogoles: Akbar, Jehangir y Shah Jahan. Dentro del complejo se encuentran algunas interesantes estructuras, como el Jehangiri Mahal, el Anguri Bagh, el Khas Mahal y la mezquita Moti Masjid.

Pueden visitar el mercadillo para ver la artesanía local de la ciudad de Agra, famosa por sus productos artesanales de mármol blanco con uso de piedras preciosas y semi-preciosas. Cena y Alojamiento en hotel.

Day 6 : (Tuesday - March 11) AGRA

In the early morning, you will visit the world famous Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), one of the seven wonders of the world, built on the banks of the Yamuna River. We will enjoy the views of this monument, symbol of eternal love, to see it at sunrise.

Its construction began in 1631 and for 22 years, 22,000 people worked to raise one of the most beautiful monuments in the world, dedicated by Emperor Shah Jahan to his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Return to the hotel and breakfast.

We will visit Akbar Church, the most important Christian building in Agra bearing the enigmatic name "Akbar Church", founded in 1600 by the Jesuit Fathers at the invitation of Emperor Akbar. This is the first Roman Catholic Church of the Mughal Era.

Also, we will visit the Itmad-ud-Daula mausoleum, known as the little Taj. Often considered a draft of the Taj Mahal, built between 1622 and 1628, it represents a transition between the first phase of monumental Mughal architecture, built mainly with red sandstone and marble decorations. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 7 : (Wednesday - March 12) AGRA - FATEHPUR SIKRI - ABHANERI - JAIPUR

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure by private vehicle to Jaipur, making a stop 40 km from Agra to visit the beautiful Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. It is one of the most beautiful desert cities of India.

Our next stop will be ABHANERI - This is Chand Baori a famous step well located in the village of Abhaneri near Jaipur, in the state of Rajasthan. It is located in front of the Harshat Mata temple and is one of the largest and deepest in India. It was built in the 9th century and has 3300 steps, 13 levels and 100 feet deep. After the visit, continue by road to Jaipur. Arrival in Jaipur and check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 8: (Thursday - March 13) JAIPUR - FORT AMER - JAIPUR

Breakfast. Drive through the residential and business areas of the "pink city", passing the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), one of Jaipur's most famous monuments. We will go to Amber Fort, the former capital of the state until 1728. A unique experience: we will ride on the back of elephants to reach the top of the hill on which the fort stands. Then, panoramic tour of Jaipur (named after Maharajah Jai Singh, prince and astronomer, who designed and founded the city in 1727). We will visit the astronomical observatory that the monarch himself built, equipped with instruments designed by him, of considerable size, and whose accuracy is difficult to match even today. We will also visit the Maharaja's Palace, former royal residence and today a museum of manuscripts, Rajput and Mughal paintings and weapons. Dinner and overnight.

Día 9º: (Viernes – 14 Marzo) JAIPUR – FIESTA DE COLORES

Desayuno. Hoy se celebra la fiesta de colores, participaremos en la fiesta en horario de 09:00 a 12:00 hrs. en la ciudad. Regresamos al hotel. 

NOTA - Esta fiesta depende del calendario Lunar y a veces hay variación de fecha de celebración, en caso de que cambie la fecha se celebrara esta fiesta en la ciudad que caiga.

Por la tarde, foto parada en Palacio Albert Hall, Patrika Gate y visitaremos el templo Birla para ver la ceremonia Aarti. Cena en hotel.

Day 10: (Saturday - March 15) JAIPUR - DELHI - KATMANDU

Breakfast. Departure by road to Delhi airport for flight to Kathmandu. Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. We can do some sightseeing depending on the flight schedule. Dinner and lodging.

Day 11: (Sunday - March 16) KATMANDU - SWAYAMBUNATH / PATAN - KATMANDU

Breakfast. In the morning, half-day sightseeing tour: Durbar Square, the old royal residential quarter, with more than 50 important temples and the Rana Palace, called Singha Durbar; the Hanuman Dhoka, the imposing gateway to the Royal Palace with its statue of the "monkey god". We will drive along the "freak" street, where hippies used to relax, to visit the temple house of the kumari, the child-goddess, a living goddess. We ended the morning at the great stupa of Swayambunath, with the eyes of Buddha painted on its four sides. Its sacred location, on a hill, was decided 2500 years ago, long before the advent of Buddhism in Nepal.

In the afternoon, visit of Patan touring the old city: Newar, the Golden Gate, the Temple of Teleju and the statue of Yogendra Malla. Dinner and overnight.

Day 12: (Monday - March 17) KATHMANDU - BODHNATH - PASHUPATINATH.

Breakfast and free morning for personal activities. At 11:30 visit of Bodhnath, one of the largest stupas in the world. We will also visit the temples of Pashupatinath, one of the most important temples of the Hindu religion dedicated to the god Shiva. Here we can see the incineration of corpses on the banks of the Bagmati river. Dinner and overnight.

Day 13: (Tuesday - March 18) KATHMANDU - DELHI - DUBAI

Breakfast. At the agreed time transfer to the airport to board the flight to Delhi. Wait at the airport to board the connecting flight from Dubai to Madrid.

Day 14: (Tuesday - March 19) DUBAI - MADRID

Wait at the airport to board the connecting flight from Dubai to Madrid. Arrival in Madrid, transfer to the hotel, free time, accommodation.

Day 15: (Wednesday - March 20) MADRID - BOGOTA

Breakfast. At the agreed time transfer to the airport to take the flight back. End of the adventure.
